Camille Giffordis a frequent soloist on the opera, concert, oratorio,
and recital stage. She has performed with many companies in the Mid-West
and the New York area, including: Lyric Opera of Kansas City, Pittsburgh
Opera, Des Moines Metro Opera, Tulsa Opera, Chattanooga
Opera, Springfield Regional Opera, Reimann Opera Theatre,
Brandenburg Opera, New York Opera Forum, New York Vocal
Artists, Pittsburgh Opera Center, Tulsa Opera Young Artists
Program, Inspiration Point Fine Arts Colony and the Middle
America Apprentice Program.
Ms. Gifford completed the Middle
America Apprentice Program which is the training program of the Lyric
Opera of Kansas City, Tulsa Opera Young Artists Program, Des
Moines Metro Opera Apprentice Program, and the Pittsburgh Opera
Center at Duquesne.
While Ms. Gifford began her operatic career performing the mezzo soprano roles on the operatic stage, her voice is more suited to the heavier soprano roles, specifically the Wagnerian soprano repertoire. Ms. Gifford has been the recipient of many vocal awards, including the prestigious Richard F. Gold Career Grant of the Shoshana Foundation, for artistic and vocal merit with the Pittsburgh Opera Young Artist Program under the direction of Tito Capobianco, a winner of the Kansas City District Metropolitan Opera Auditions and Midwest Regional finalist, two times National Opera Association Competition Finalist and has also received the Singer’s Encouragement Grant from the Wagner Society of New York City.
Ms. Gifford is an accomplished pianist as well and received a Bachelor of Music Degree in Piano Performance from Southwest Missouri State University graduating summa cum laude, Teaching Certificate
for Vocal Music (grades K-12), Master of Music Degree in Piano Performance
from the University of Missouri - Kansas City and has also
completed work towards the Doctor of Musical Arts Degree in Vocal Performance
at the University of Missouri - Kansas City. |
